Teledyne LABS welcomes two new chromatography product specialists

​​​Teledyne LABS is pleased to welcome two new chromatography product specialists. Mark Adams serves clients in the western United States; Eric Seest serves clients in the eastern United States. 

As product specialists, Mark and Eric provide expertise and product support to customers in the field for Teledyne ISCO brand chromatography products and services. They work with the Teledyne LABS applications team to develop and provide technical information to customers, with the product services team to help troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and with the marketing and communications team to prepare collateral for tradeshows, customer visits and instrument demonstrations.

“Mark and Eric bring a tremendous amount of chromatography know-how and proficiency to the table,” said Ruth Cacek, Teledyne LABS’ global sales manager. “They are a natural fit with our company, which prides itself in exceptional products, capabilities and customer support.”

Mark was a medicinal chemist with Takeda Pharmaceuticals in San Diego for 18 years. He participated in 15 drug discovery programs, which included neuroscience, oncology, inflammation, and cardiovascular disease. He also made significant contributions to two clinical candidates for cancer treatment and Parkinson’s Disease. His extensive laboratory experience made him adept in many areas of purification, including Preparatory SFC. 

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of San Diego and his master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. His hobbies include sculpting animals in clay and playing the guitar. Mark, his wife Chely, and their “very active 3-year-old boy,” Mateo, live in San Diego.

Eric Seest, Chromatography Product Specialist

Eric was an analytical chemist and separations scientist in discovery chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 37 years, most recently with Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, Indiana. His expertise is particularly concentrated in preparative chromatography, including HPLC, SFC, and Chiral purification. 

Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, followed by graduate school coursework in chemistry at the University of California-Irvine. He is a board member of the Green Chemistry Group, a non-profit that promotes SFC and SFE. His interests include his family: wife Eleanor, four adult children, and two grandchildren (with one on the way). He enjoys travel, reading, history, and church. He also follows major league baseball as a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He lives in Indianapolis.

“I’m highly motivated to share my chromatography experience and expertise in this new role,” Eric said. “I look forward to building professional relationships with my customers and my colleagues.”
